The 2025 Logistics Innovation Day, held on February 20th in Rome at the Lazio Innova Active Space – Casilina, brought together businesses, accelerators, investors, and institutions. The event featured keynote speeches on the challenges and trends shaping the logistics ecosystem, reverse pitch sessions to share needs and innovations, and targeted B2B meetings. It was a strategic opportunity to foster dialogue, accelerate innovative solutions, and promote collaboration among startups, SMEs, and key industry players.
Event Objectives
- To analyze global and regional trends and identify the needs of the logistics supply chain
- To promote innovative solutions through dialogue and exchange among different stakeholders
- To facilitate B2B meetings and reverse pitch sessions with key industry stakeholders
- To launch an open innovation challenge to engage startups and SMEs in digital logistics
- To frame logistics as a strategic asset for the Lazio region and propose the “General States of Logistics in Lazio” initiative

What current and future logistics challenges can be addressed through innovative solutions inspired by the Physical Internet model?
Globally, logistics is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the adoption of advanced technologies, the urgent need to ensure sustainability, and the evolution of organizational and commercial models. In this context, a logic of connection, interoperability, and resource sharing, typical of the Physical Internet, is gaining ground.
The event is part of the “Spazio Attivo Network Strengthening” project, funded by the ERDF Lazio 2021–2027 Programme – OS1.3.
On the agenda:

- Keynote Speeches by experts to clearly identify the strategic challenges that logistics is currently facing.
- Reverse Pitch sessions, where major market players, corporates, accelerators, and investors present their concrete needs to participating startups and SMEs, opening a dialogue on innovative and collaborative solutions.
- Würth Italia will launch the Open Innovation Challenge “Solution4Fulfillment”, aimed at those proposing advanced projects in fulfillment processes and smart logistics.
